Overbrook GC repeats at Team ChampionsHUNTINGDON VALLEY, Pa.-Overbrook GC added another chapter to its Golf Association of Philadelphia record book Thursday by repeating as winners of the Team Championship at Philmont CC's North Course. The club now holds 14 solo Team titles — two clear of Huntingdon Valley CC. Overbrook also tied Atlantic City CC in 1989 and Yardley CC in 1996. In one of the closest Team Championship's in recent years, Overbrook netted 20 points to topple Commonwealth National GC and Llanerch CC, who both scored 18 points; and Little Mill CC, 16 points. Representing the Overbrook squad were Bob Cunningham, James Kania, Jr., Michael Kania, Chris Lange, Chris Lange, Jr., Frank McFadden, Oscar Mestre and Raymond Thompson.

GAP is the oldest state or regional golf association in the country. It started courtesy of a friendly competition – the Team Matches – and has grown into the preeminent golf association in the country. Along the way, golf history has been made.
