Martin Emeno named Director of Operations

  Martin D. Emeno Jr., an experienced public relations executive and newspaper administrator, was named the new Director of Operations for the Golf Association of Philadelphia on Tuesday.

  Emeno, 32, of Havertown, Pa., has served as Director of Communications with the Association since April 2001. He steps into the newly created position by appointment from Mark Peterson, the Executive Director. As Director of Communications, Emeno was responsible for all media relations and the coordination of all Association publications, including the Association's media guide and annual report.

  From 1995-2001, Emeno was the Sports Editor at Main Line Life in Ardmore, Pa., where he was responsible for the content and design of the paper's sports section. Prior to his time there, Emeno worked as a public relations assistant throughout the Miami, Fla. area in the horse racing industry.

  Emeno is a graduate of the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Fla., with a communications degree in broadcast journalism and theater arts and a minor in sports management. Emeno has also worked as a reporter with The Palm Beach Post and The Philadelphia Inquirer.

  The Golf Association of Philadelphia (GAP) is an association of 119 golf clubs within 150 miles of Philadelphia. GAP administers 52 competitions within the Philadelphia area, including the Amateur Championship and the Philadelphia Open Championship.
