Brookreson grabs Senior Silver Cross Award
NORTH HILLS, Pa.-David Brookreson’s late surge, two birdies in the last three holes, clinched the inaugural Senior Silver Cross Award. Brookreson, 57, who captured the Silver Cross in 1984 and 1988, carded a 75 in the Warner Cup at Bellewood GC in May, a 69 in the Chapman Cup at Little Mill CC last week and rounds of 76-70 in the Senior Amateur Championship at Lu Lu yesterday and today.
The Senior Silver Cross is awarded to the player with the lowest aggregate score in the Warner Cup, Chapman Cup and Senior Amateur Championship rounds. This is the inaugural year for the award (the counterpart of the Silver Cross).
"It shows the consistency I’ve had all year," said Brookreson of winning the first Senior Silver Cross Award. "It means a little bit more, especially since it’s the inaugural one."
Brookreson, a resident of Huntingdon Valley, is a member at Huntingdon Valley CC.
