1st President's Council set for Philadelphia Country Club

Remaining focused on offering valuable programs to its members, the Golf Association of Philadelphia proudly announces a new meeting for 2005 that will yield immediate dividends for Presidents and General Managers.

In March, the Association will hold its 1st annual President’s Council to educate and examine key topics and issues affecting every club in the organization with three dynamic, nationally renowned speakers. The President’s Council is set for Tuesday, March 15 at Philadelphia Country Club in Gladwyne, Pa. Speakers include:

  • Mr. Gary A. Hamilton, a professor at California State Polytechnic University’s Collins School of Hospitality Management. In addition, he is also affiliated with Kapoor & Kapoor, a company that specializes in helping country clubs, athletic and yacht clubs maximize their organizational goals. Mr. Hamilton will focus on the relationship between the club’s manager and staff members with its Board of Directors.
  • Mr. Steve Graves, President and Founder of Creative Golf Marketing and Management, Inc. This firm was named "Membership Marketing Firm of the Year". Mr. Graves will focus primarily on increasing the club’s revenues and marketability.
  • Mr. Tom Walker, from Bollinger Insurance, provides property and casualty insurance specifically designed for golf clubs. Mr. Walker will discuss changes in the industry, and the types of coverage your club needs so it’s protected if a disaster should strike.

Following the speakers and lunch, roundtable discussions will be held with each of the guest speakers. This will provide attendees with plenty of time to ask questions about your particular concerns.

Due to space limitations, attendance is limited to just three individuals per club. The cost for the entire day is just $60 per person. An invitation to the event as well as a registration form is enclosed. Once you have completed the form, please return it, along with a check made payable to Golf Association of Philadelphia, by March 1.

We look forward to presenting this new program and welcome your suggestions for future President’s Council seminar topics. If you have any questions regarding this event, please contact Ilene Persin at 610-687-2340, ext. 10, or via e-mail at ipersin@gapgolf.org.
