In a continuing effort to improve the Delaware Valley's knowledge on the rules of golf, the Golf Association of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Section of the PGA of America proudly announce their 2005 rules seminar schedule. The two organizations will offer two The Rules of Golf sessions in addition to a course marking seminar this year.

A classroom course focusing on The Rules of Golf book, definitions and a brief review of rules is set for March 19 at Philadelphia Country Club. David Hayes, the United States Golf Association’s (USGA) Manager of Rules Education and Technology, will instruct the day-long seminar. Cost is $65 and is open to the first 125 respondents.

On April 5, an outdoor course focusing on tournament administration and officiating will be featured at Tavistock Country Club. Donna Mummert, the USGA Coordinator on the The Rules of Golf, will be the instructor. Cost is $65 for the day-long session and is open to the first 75 respondents.

A new session added to the schedule this year is the Course Marking Seminar set for March 29 at Woodcrest Country Club. Cost is $40 and limited to 100 entries. The Course Marking Seminar will explain and demonstrate how to properly define a golf course and its boundaries, hazards, ground under repair, etc. James Farrell, the USGA Director of Regional Affairs for the Northeast, will be the guest speaker.
