GAP launches improved, redesigned Web site

For the second time since the debut of the Golf Association of Philadelphia Web site in 1998, www.gapgolf.org has undergone a face-lift. This time it’s bigger and better.

Although the general feel and placement of key items remain similar to the original page, the revamped version presents visitors with more information, a larger format and greater entertainment value.

"We wanted to provide our members with a more user-friendly and entertaining way of keeping informed with the latest GAP news," said Mark Peterson, Executive Director of the Golf Association of Philadelphia. "This new Web site provides us with such a vehicle to do just that."

Most notably, the new home page is anchored by a center scrolling feature that allows GAP to highlight multiple stories every seven seconds, similar to many sports and golf-related sites out there in hyperspace today.

Also, the increase in page width has given GAP the ability to display larger more detailed headers of GAP’s member clubs, three additional key items directly below the main stories and as well as the increasingly popular GAP video features on the wider right-hand column. The additional key items will be used to assist in the education of GAP members and non-members as to what GAP does for the Amateur game in Philadelphia while the GAP TV box allows visitors to view the videos in the small window or enlarge to full screen.

My Gap Locker, although introduced to the Web site in 2006, continues to be a prominent staple of www.gapgolf.org, however, it too has seen its fair share of advancements. The new and improved My Gap Locker gives GAP’s members increased access to their individual account information.

In the coming months, www.gapgolf.org will also unveil a new look to the Player of the Year standings situated just below the MY GAP Locker feature on the left hand column of the home page.

Please visit www.gapgolf.org for the very latest amateur golf news in and around the Delaware Valley.
