Golf Association of Philadelphia unveils Williamson Cup teamThe Golf Association of Philadelphia has announced its 2009 Williamson Cup team. Mike Amole of Huntingdon Valley CC, Vince Boyle of Torresdale-Frankford CC, Greg Jarmas of Philadelphia Publinks GA and Kyle Raudenbush of Pine Valley GC will represent the organization at the tournament, which will be held Aug. 11 at Oak Hill CC in Rochester, N.Y. The Williamson Cup features teams of four juniors from 10 regional and state associations engage in a one-day, 36-hole stroke play competition.
Age: 16 Club: Huntingdon Valley CC 2009 Accomplishments: Advanced to the semifinals in the Junior Boys’ Championship at Riverton CC as the No. 3 seed…finished second in the 25th Jock MacKenzie Memorial with a 1-under-par 71…won the 24th Francis X. Hussey Memorial at Rolling Green GC alongside teammate Paul Carbone, Jr. of Old York Road CC.
Age: 17 Club: Torresdale-Frankford CC 2009 Accomplishments: Advanced to the quarterfinals in the Junior Boys’ Championship at Riverton CC…captured the 2009 Christman Cup at Torresdale-Frankford CC in a sudden-death playoff…finished tied for ninth in the 25th Jock MacKenzie Memorial at Sandy Run CC…finished second in the 24th Francis X. Hussey Memorial at Rolling Green GC alongside teammate Joseph Gunerman of Yardley CC…finished second in the Harry Hammond Award Standings.
Age: 17 Club: Philadelphia Publinks GA 2009 Accomplishments: Qualified for match play in the Junior Boys’ Championship at Riverton CC…qualified at Glenmaura National GC as an alternate for the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship…finished third in the Christman Cup…finished tied for seventh in the 25th Jock MacKenzie Memorial at Sandy Run CC… carded an even-par 142 in the 105th Open Championship at Bent Creek CC… finished third in the Harry Hammond Award Standings.
