Philly Section of PGA announce Rules Seminar

  In a continuing effort to improve the Delaware Valley's knowledge on the Rules of Golf, the Golf Association of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Section of the PGA of America proudly announce its 2009 Rules of Golf Seminar.

  A classroom course focusing on The Rules of Golf book, definitions and a brief review of rules is set for 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m., March 7, at Philadelphia Country Club. Donna Mummert, the USGA assistant director of Amateur Status and Rules of Golf, will instruct the day-long seminar. Cost is $65 and is open to the first 100 respondents.

  This is the only joint Rules Seminar to be held in 2009.

  Founded in 1897, the Golf Association of Philadelphia (GAP) is the oldest regional golf association in the United States and serves as the principal ruling body of amateur golf in its region. Its 135 Member Clubs and 56,000 individual members are spread across parts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland. The purpose of the Association is simple: To promote, protect and preserve the game of golf in the region.
