Winter Series spring events announcedThe 2009 spring edition of the Golf Association of Philadelphia Winter Series has been set and the first part of the schedule spans the month of March and each region of the organization’s territory. The Winter Series was created to offer all players of any skill level an opportunity to compete in tournament golf during the normally quiet, off-season months. Dates are as follows (weather pending):
2009 Schedule
Players/Teams will be divided into three brackets: Amateur, Senior and Professional. Prizes will be awarded in both gross and net divisions (players are only eligible to win one prize per tournament). Entries will be available only on the Association's Web site, www.gapgolf.org. Founded in 1897, the Golf Association of Philadelphia (GAP) is the oldest regional golf association in the United States and serves as the principal ruling body of amateur golf in its region. Its 139 Member Clubs and 60,000 individual members are spread across parts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland. The purpose of the Association is simple: To promote, protect and preserve the game of golf in the region.
