Oct. 24-26. The Marlton, N.J. resident posted rounds of 79, 77 and 79 for a 235 total. James Bea of Spring Mill CC and Andrew Jaskel of Middletown CC, both juniors at St. Joseph’s University, finished tied for 12th in the Navy Fall Invitational Sept. 11-12 at the USNA Golf Course in Annapolis, Md. Bea, of Churchville, Pa., carded a final-round 2-under-par while Jaskel, of Bensalem, Pa., turned in career-best performance that featured rounds of 72 and 74. Bea led the Hawks in scoring this fall with a 75.9 average. Dan Bernard of RiverCrest GC & Preserve, a sophomore at Bucknell University, boosted the Bisons to victory in the Bucknell Invitational Sept. 17-18 at Bucknell GC in Lewisburg, Pa. The Malvern, Pa. fired rounds of 75, 72 and 74 to finish tied for ninth. Matthew Burkhart of Meadia Heights GC, a sophomore at Messiah College, continues to build upon an already impressive collegiate record. The reigning Commonwealth Conference Rookie and Player of the Year finished tied for second in the Franklin & Marshall Invitational Oct. 11 at Bent Creek CC. He finished third in the Gettysburg College Fall Invitational at The Links at Gettysburg Oct. 13. Burkhart, who qualified as the No. 22 seed in this year’s Amateur Championship at Saucon Valley CC, finished fourth in the Muhlenberg College Invitational Oct. 18 at Lehigh CC in Allentown, Pa. with a 7-over-par 77. To cap off the fall season, he led the Falcons to victory in the Messiah College Falcon Classic Oct. 19 at Blue Ridge CC in Harrisburg, Pa. Burkhart, of Lancaster, Pa., carded a 2-under-par 70, the day’s only sub-par round, to top the field. Daniel Charen of Yardley CC, a junior at Ohio State University, contributed to the Buckeyes’ victory in the Marshall Invitational at Guyan CC in Huntington, W. Va. Sept. 13-14. Charen, of Langhorne, Pa., fired rounds of 69, 69 and 70 to finish tied for 12th place at 5 under. Charen placed tied for 21st in the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational at Isleworth G&CC in Orlando, Fla. Oct. 25-26. He used a season-best even-par 72 in the event’s final round to finish with an 8-over-par 224 total. Amory Davis of Bidermann GC, a senior at the University of Virginia, registered two Top-10 finishes this fall. In the Gary Koch Intercollegiate at Old Memorial GC in Tampa, Fla. Oct. 1-3, Davis, of Chadds Ford, Pa., placed eighth with a score of 213. He finished tied for 10th overall in The Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at The Ridges G&CC in Jonesborough, Tenn. Oct. 15-17. Davis, of Chadds Ford, Pa., posted rounds 72, 70 and 71 for a 3 under overall total. It marked the eighth time during his collegiate career that Davis finished in the top 10. The Cavaliers, as a team, won both events. Brandon Detweiler of Lancaster CC, a senior at North Carolina State University, had a memorable fall season. In his first event, Detweiler posted a collegiate-best 5-under-par 67 in the Golfweek Conference Challenge at Spirit Hollow Golf Course in Burlington, Iowa, where he finished third overall. The Lancaster, Pa. resident placed tied for 4th in the Wolfpack Intercollegiate at Lonnie Pool Golf Course at NC State Oct. 4-5. The Lancaster, Pa. resident fired rounds of 70, 69 and 72 to compile a 2 under performance. He also finished tied for sixth in the Rod Myers Invitational at Duke GC in Durham, N.C. with an even par total of 216. Matt Dudas of Indian Valley CC, a sophomore at Millersville University, led the Marauders in scoring at the Mercyhurst Fall Invitational Oct. 9-10 at Harborcreek Golf Course in Erie, Pa. He carded an 8-over-par 152 to finish tied for 18th place. Dudas also finished tied for 26th in the Hal Hansen Invitational at Clarion Oaks GC in Millersville, Pa. Sept. 12-13. The Harleysville, Pa. resident posted back-to-back 5 under rounds. Ben Feld of Blue Bell CC, a sophomore at Drexel University, earned medalist honors in the Philadelphia University Golf Class at The ACE Club in Lafayette Hill, Pa. Feld, of Blue Bell, Pa., fired a 2-over-par 74, allowing the Dragons to capture the inaugural tournament. He also paced the Dragons to a ninth place finish in the Lincoln Mercury Intercollegiate Oct. 16-17 at Fiddler’s Elbow CC (River Course) in Bedminster, N.J. Travis Gahman of Philadelphia Publinks GA, a junior at Bridgewater College, emerged as a top player for the Eagles this fall. He powered the squad to runner-up honors in the Ted Keller Memorial at Hunting Hawk Golf Course in Glen Allen, Va. Oct. 2-3. Gahman, of Souderton, Pa., fired a 4-under-par 140 to earn a four-stroke victory. He also led the Eagles to a runner-up finish in the Hampden-Sydney Invitational at The Manor in Farmville, Va. Sept. 27-28. Gahman finished the 36-hole tournament tied atop the individual leaderboard, but fell in a three-man playoff to place third overall. He was the Eagles’ top scorer in the Greensboro-Gordon Invitational at Grandover Resort East Course in Greensboro, N.C. Oct. 10-11. Gahman logged a 148 to finish tied for 11th place overall. He finished tied for 16th in the Tom Kinder Memorial at Lakeview Golf Course in Harrisonburg, Va. Sept. 19-20. Hunter Hanson of Waynesborough CC, a sophomore at Colgate University, finished tied for 58th in the Cornell Invitational Sept. 25-26 at Robert Trent Jones Golf Course in Ithaca, N.Y. The Wayne, Pa. resident fired rounds of 81, 78 and 80 for a 239-total. Russell Hartung of Doylestown CC, a freshman at Temple University, participated in six events this fall. His best performance came in the Hartford Hawk Invitational at Bulls Bridge Golf Course in South Kent, Conn. Sept. 27-28. Hartung, of Doylestown, Pa., finished tied for 34th with a score of 156. Kevin Huntington of Penn Oaks GC, a junior at the University of Pennsylvania, placed tied for 19th in The Classic at Shelter Harbor Oct. 16-17 in Westerly, R.I. The West Chester, Pa. resident and 2006 Jock MacKenzie Champion fashioned rounds of 73 and 77, respectively. Michael Johnson of Talamore CC, a freshman at La Salle University, was named the Atlantic 10 Golf Rookie of the Week for Oct. 4-8. Johnson, the 2010 Patterson Cup runner-up, finished tied for 26th in the Big 5 Invitational at Plymouth CC. Johnson, of Ambler, Pa., carded an even-par 70 in his final round for a 7-over 147 total. His score of 70 was the lowest score posted by an Explorer since John Lorenzo carded a school-record 68 to win the Rehoboth Beach Invitational on Sept. 26, 2006. Johnson also recorded a top-10 finish in leading La Salle to the Swarthmore Invitational team title at Rock Manor Golf Course in Wilmington, Del. Johnson's 7-over par 78 was good for a seventh place finish out 76 total participants. Michael Kania of Overbrook GC, a freshman at Villanova University, kept a season-long blog that chronicled his first year as a member of the Wildcats’ golf team. Kania, a Haverford, Pa. resident and who transferred from the University of Kentucky, provided insights into his experiences at each tournament. The 2010 Amateur runner-up competed in all five of Villanova’s fall events. Tucker Koch of RiverCrest GC & Preserve, a freshman at James Madison University, competed in one fall event for the Dukes. The Malvern, Pa. resident carded a 7-over-par 233 total to place tied for 29th in the Richmond Intercollegiate at Independence GC in Richmond, Va. Oct. 9-10, where James Madison, as a team, finished second. Paul Kovalcheck of Lu Lu CC, a senior at McDaniel College, earned individual runner-up honors in the Guy W. Kuhn Invitational at Meadville CC in Meadville, Pa. Sept. 19-20. The Aston, Pa. resident carded a career-low 2 under and led the Green Terror to victory. Kovalcheck also performed well in McDaniel’s win at the Peter C. Rossin Memorial at Southpointe GC in Canonsburg, Pa. Oct. 10-11. He placed tied for fourth to help the Green Terror overcome a 13-stroke deficit. Andrew Lawson of Hershey’s Mill GC, a junior at Drexel University, led the Dragons to a sixth place finish in the St. Bonaventure Keenan Invitational Sept.18-20 at Bartlett CC in Olean, N.Y. The West Chester, Pa. resident shot a team-best 148. Connor Lefever of Lancaster CC, a freshman at West Chester University, was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week Oct. 5. Lefever, of Lancaster, Pa., finished tied for third overall in the California (Pa.) Vulcan Invitational at Cedarbrook Golf Course in Belle Vernon, Pa. with an even-par 214. Lefever also earned PSAC Athlete of the Week honors Sept. 8 following an individual victory in the 2010 Burger King/Ohio Valley Invitational at Woodbridge Plantation Golf Course in Mineral Wells, W. Va. Sept. 6-7. He carded a spectacular 5-under-par 137 to earn the tournament crown. Cameron Liebert of White Manor CC, a freshman at Loyola University of Maryland, competed in one event in his rookie season. He finished tied for 28th in the Bucknell Fall Invitational Sept. 17-18 at Bucknell GC in Lewisburg, Pa. with a score of 227. Doug Marcincin of Northampton CC, a Lehigh University junior, served as captain of the Mountain Hawks squad this year, and he displayed his leadership skills throughout the fall. The Bethlehem, Pa. resident logged a 54-hole score of 219 to finish tied for 15th place in the Rutgers Invitational at Rutgers University Golf Course in Piscataway, N.J. Marcincin, who qualified as the No. 2 seed in this year’s Amateur Championship at Saucon Valley CC, carded a team-low 223 to finish tied for 29th in the Richmond Intercollegiate at Independence GC in Richmond, Va. Oct. 9-10. Andrew Mason of Huntingdon Valley CC, a senior at Temple University, led the Owls to a second-place finish in the Lincoln Mercury Intercollegiate Oct. 16-17 at Fiddler’s Elbow CC (River Course) in Bedminster, N.J. Mason, of Huntingdon Valley, Pa., carded a 1-under-par 143 — the best score of his collegiate career — to finish tied for second overall. Mason earned Atlantic 10 Conference Men’s Golf Performer of the Week honors for his performance. Max Matejik of Yardley CC, a sophomore at Cabrini College, led the Cavaliers to a third place finish in the Franklin & Marshall Invitational Oct. 11 at Bent Creek CC. The Fallsington, Pa. resident fired a 2-over-par 73 to place tied for second in the event. He also finished tied for second in the Muhlenberg College Invitational Oct. 18 at Lehigh CC in Allentown, Pa. Matejik finished tied for 10th in the Swarthmore College Invitational at Rock Manor Golf Course Oct. 4. Greg Matthias of Hartefeld National, a junior at the University of Delaware, finished tied for 28th place with a 4 over score in the Sea Trail Intercollegiate Sept. 24-26 in Sunset Beach, N.C. The Wilmington, Del. resident also placed tied for 40th in the Joe Agee Invitational at Colonial Heritage GC in Williamsburg, Va. Oct. 9-10. Edward McCrossen, Jr. of Whitemarsh Valley CC, a freshman at Georgetown University, competed as an individual in the Georgetown Intercollegiate at The Members Club at Four Steams in Beallsville, Md. Oct. 19-20. The Ambler, Pa. resident tied for 48th place at 12-over-par 225. Prior to the tournament, McCrossen, the 2009 Junior Player of the Year, and his teammates met with National Football League Hall of Famer Roger Staubach. Connor McNicholas of Commonwealth National GC, a freshman at Temple University, placed tied for 12th overall in the Big 5 Invitational at Plymouth CC Oct. 9-10. The Ambler, Pa. resident fired a 4-over-par 144, the best performance of his rookie season. Michael Meisenzahl of Hidden Creek GC, a redshirt senior at James Madison University, placed tied for 14th in the Maryland Intercollegiate at River Marsh GC in Cambridge, Md. Sept. 18-19. Meisenzahl, of Medford, N.J., registered rounds of 75, 72 and 68. Kevin Melnick of Plymouth CC, a junior at Boston College, contributed to the Eagles’ victory in the ECAC Championship at Twisted Dune GC in Egg Harbor, N.J. Oct. 4-5. Melnick, of Blue Bell, Pa., registered a 2-over-par 146 to finish tied for third overall in the tournament. Steve Minnick, Jr. of Bala GC, a senior at West Chester University, led the Golden Rams in scoring at the 2010 Atlantic Region Invitational Sept. 20-21 at River Greens Golf Course in West Lafayette, Ohio. Minnick, of Broomall, Pa., cared a 54-hole total 227 to place tied for 22nd overall. Brendan Mohler of Northampton CC, a junior at Franklin & Marshall College, helped the Diplomats prevail in the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championship Oct. 15-16 at Lebanon CC in Lebanon, Pa. The Bethlehem, Pa. resident fired rounds of 80 and 79 to finish third overall. He finished fourth in the Elizabethtown Fall Invitational at Hershey CC Oct. 7. Mohler carded a 77 to again boost the Diplomats into the winner’s circle. Nathan Sutherland of Golden Oaks GC, a Miami University of Ohio senior, completed a successful fall campaign that featured three top 10 finishes. The Wyomissing, Pa. resident finished tied for third in the Purdue/Midwest Shootout at the Kampen Course in West Lafayette, Ind. Sept. 10-11. He contributed to a Red Hawks victory in the Cardinal Intercollegiate at The Cardinal Club in Louisville, Ky. Sept. 20-21 by posting an overall 2 under score to finish tied for sixth. A 1 over par mark in the Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic Sept. 27-28 at Warren Golf Course in South Bend, Ind. put Sutherland in a tie for fourth place. Erik Thorn of Links GC, a junior at Albright College, seized first place in the Lions Tri-Match against Immaculata University and Penn State Brandywine Sept. 21 at Berkshire CC in Reading, Pa. Thorn, of Cherry Hill, N.J., topped the 18-player field with a score of 72. Oliver White of Manufacturers G&CC, a freshman at Allleghany College, shined in his rookie season. The Lower Gwynedd, Pa., resident finished third overall to propel Allegheny to a fourth-place finish in the Guy W. Kuhn Invitational at Meadville CC in Meadville, Pa. Sept. 19-20. White carded a two-day total of 143. That performance earned White NCAC (North Coast Athletic Conference) Player of the Week honors. He finished seventh overall in the California (Pa.) Vulcan Invitational at Cedarbrook Golf Course in Belle Vernon, Pa. with a three-day total of 216. Duncan Zeiders of Old York Road CC, a senior at Lehigh University, placed tied for 46th in the Lincoln Mercury Intercollegiate Oct. 16-17 at Fiddler’s Elbow CC (River Course) in Bedminster, N.J. Zeiders, of North Wales, Pa., registered an overall score of 156.
