GAP is the oldest state or regional golf association in the country. It started courtesy of a friendly competition – the Team Matches – and has grown into the preeminent golf association in the country. Along the way, golf history has been made.

Association announces Philadelphia Challenge Matches team

  The Golf Association of Philadelphia has announced its team for the Philadelphia Challenge Matches, set for Thursday, Oct. 14 at LedgeRock GC.

  Michael Brown of Lookaway GC, the 2010 Open Champion and current leader in the William Hyndman, III Player of the Year Standings, will captain the GAP squad. Now in its 19th year, the Philadelphia Challenge Matches pit the Association’s top amateurs against professionals from the Philadelphia Section of the PGA in four-ball stroke play and match play competitions. The Philadelphia Section of the PGA leads the series, 15-1-3.
