Team GAP competes in Williamson Cup at Essex G&CC

  The Golf Association of Philadelphia finished ninth in the Williamson Cup, held Aug. 9-10 Essex G&CC in Ontario, Canada.

  Representing the GAP squad this year were Zach Arsenault of Little Mill CC, Paul Carbone, Jr. of Old York Road CC, Evan Galbreath of Philmont CC and Conor Pocino of Old York CC at Chesterfield. The Williamson Cup features teams of four juniors from 10 regional and state associations engage in a two-day, 36-hole stroke play competition.

Zach Arsenault
Age: 16
Club: Little Mill CC
2010 Accomplishments: Qualified as the No. 4 seed in the First Flight of the 96th Junior Boys’ Championship at Whitford CC… Carded an 8-over-par 150 to place tied for fourth in the Christman Cup at Lu Lu CC … Finished tied for 11th in the Jock MacKenzie Memorial at Sandy Run CC.

  

  

  

Paul Carbone, Jr.
Age: 17
Club: Old York Road CC
2010 Accomplishments: Carded an 8-over-par 150 to place tied for fourth in the Christman Cup at Lu Lu CC … Fell in a playoff for the Jock MacKenzie Memorial title to Ted Brennan of Philadelphia CC … Finished tied for fourth in the Deeg Sezna Four-Ball at Hartefeld National alongside clubmate Ed Enoch.

  

  

  

Evan Galbreath
Age: 16
Club: Philmont Country Club
2010 Accomplishments: Carded a 5-over-par 77 to finish tied for 7th in the Jock MacKenzie Memorial at Sandy Run CC … Finished tied for 12th in the Christman Cup at Lu Lu CC … Advanced as the No. 6 seed to the quarterfinals of the 96th Junior Boys’ Championship at Whitford CC.

  

  

  

Conor Pocino
Age: 17
Club: Old York CC at Chesterfield
2010 Accomplishments: Semifinalist in the 96th Junior Boys’ Championship at Whitford CC. Fell to Benjamin Cooley of Lu Lu CC, 5&4 … Finished tied for 20th in the Christman Cup at Lu Lu CC.
