New Player of Year competition highlights Winter SeriesDon’t let some questionable weather conditions this fall or next spring get in the way of taking home the Golf Association of Philadelphia’s newest trophy. The Association has created a Winter Series Player of the Year which will be determined via a points system from an eight tournament tour – four in the fall and four more in the spring, weather permitting. Winter Series Player of the Year categories are as follows: Amateur Gross; Amateur Net; Senior Gross and Senior Net.The Winter Series was created to offer all players of any skill level an opportunity to compete in tournament golf during the normally quiet, off-season months. 2010 Winter Series Fall Schedule
Each tournament begins with a morning shotgun start depending on club availability. Cost is $35 per person per event. Entrants are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Field size is dependent on host club availability, and will be open to all Golf Association of Philadelphia Members, ages 18 years of age and older, Philadelphia Section of PGA Members and Golf Professionals at Member Clubs.
