*Winter Series Player of the Year Standings
Association unveils dates, venues for upcoming Winter Series' eventsThe Golf Association of Philadelphia unveiled the 2011 Winter Series spring schedule. The Winter Series was created to offer all players of any skill level an opportunity to compete in tournament golf during the normally quiet, off-season months. Dates and venues are as follows (weather permitting): 2011 Schedule
• March 9, Applecross Country Club, Better-Ball of Partners, 10 a.m. shotgun, Maximum field size: 108 Cost is $35 per person per event. Entrants are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Each event will be open to all Golf Association of Philadelphia Amateur Members ages 18 years of age and older, Philadelphia Section of PGA Members and Golf Professionals at Member Clubs. In 2010, the Association created a Winter Series Player of the Year competition. The categories are as follows: Amateur Gross, Amateur Net, Senior Gross and Senior Net. Peter Barron, III of Stone Harbor Golf Club leads both the Amateur Gross and Net Divisions following four fall events. Robert Lodovici of Little Mill Country Club sits atop the Senior Gross Standings with 440 points, and Peter Mimmo of North Hills Country Club leads the Senior Net rankings with 270 points.
