Donations for Dawn2Dusk still being accepted

Despite blisters, sore legs and a two-hour rain delay, the Dawn to Dusk Golf Marathon was once again a huge success – raising more than $165,000 for the Platt Caddie Scholarship. The event took place on July 25 at Old York Road CC with 22 teams playing in the marathon golf event from 7 a.m to 6 p.m. all to benefit the Trust.

â€śWe are so thrilled with the enthusiasm and drive everyone displayed throughout Dawn to Dusk,” Platt Chairman Jack Endicott said. “It has proved to be a great way to generate awareness about the Platt Caddie Scholarship and what we do, as well as get people more involved. We have a great group leading this effort, and as an organization we couldn’t be more pleased.”

In only its second year, this event has proved to be both a fun and lucrative fundraising effort, spearheaded by Huntingdon Valley CC member and JWP Trustee, Tina Gregor.

â€śIt’s amazing to think that in such a short time Dawn to Dusk has been able to raise more than $260,000 for the Platt Caddie Scholarship,” Gregor said. “We look forward to this event each year, raising money for a great cause.”

All told, 2,524 golf holes were played, with Brent McKnight of Llanerch CC playing the highest total for any club of 180. The Squires GC team consisting of current Platt Caddie-Scholars, C.J. Motts and Alex McPherson, raised the most money, bringing in more than $16,000 by the day of the event.
