GAP Team Matches schedule releasedSchedules for all divisions of the 2012 GAP Team Matches are complete.A total of 319 from a record 132 clubs will participate in the Association’s annual season kickoff event. Little Mill Country Club enters the year as the defending champion fresh off its first-ever GTM victory last May. The Marlton, N.J. club, which joined the Golf Association of Philadelphia in 1985, capped its slow but steady rise up the GAP Team Matches rank with a victory over Merion Golf Club, Tavistock Country Club and Fox Hill Country Club in last year’s Playoff. This year, Little Mill faces Blue Bell Country Club, Huntingdon Valley Country Club and Llanerch Country Club this year in the round-robin portion of the GTM. Huntingdon Valley holds the record for GAP Team Matches victories with 32. In the GAP Team Matches, squads compete in a four-team sectional round-robin format (which equates to three matches). A total of 12 players per team compete with six players staying home and six traveling to the opponent’s club. The GAP Team Matches are scheduled for April 22, 29and May 6. The Championship Playoff and Challenges is set for Saturday, May 12.
