GAP Web site gets a brand new look

The Golf Association of Philadelphia launched its new and improved Web site this week. Visitors can now navigate a more polished, uniformed iteration that best highlights the Association’s attributes and services.

â€śThe new Web site has been in the works for awhile and the entire staff is excited to finally have it launched,” Martin D. Emeno, Jr., the Association’s Director of Operations, said. “The entire site, especially the home page, offers visitors a more appealing look and easier navigation options. If you are a member, supporter or fan of the Golf Association of Philadelphia, gapgolf.org is the place for you.”

â€śWe’re excited to have the new and improved gapgolf.org presented to our membership,” Executive Director Mark Peterson added. “Every so often in technology, you’re provided with the opportunity to highlight your key features, and the new gapgolf.org does just that. It provides a professional presentation for our members to enjoy.”

A greater visual appeal is certainly evident once visitors land on the home page. Rotating images for the latest GAP headlines have a prominent presence on the left-hand side. Beneath it sits a sleek box that allows members to easily find upcoming events that fit their respective age and skill levels. Furthermore, visitors can immediately locate what they seek by using a newly installed search toolbar, located in the upper right-hand corner.

After scrolling farther down the home page, visitors will see a row titled “Power Alley,” which features engaging and timely GAP items. Adding to the site’s enhanced visual appeal is a striking photo gallery. Visitors can check out pictures from the latest GAP events through the Association’s new Flickr page. Informative items such as GAP Membership, Outing Central and blogs surround and complement the photo gallery.

Visitors to the new GAP Web site will also find a brawny sidebar accentuated by a crisp green backdrop. It includes access to My GAP Locker, recent stories, rotating images spotlighting GAP advertisers and services, GAPTV and the GAP Magazine. Live scoring will be showcased on the day of the respective event as well.

The Association’s Web site debuted in 1998. It last underwent a facelift in March 2007.

Founded in 1897, the Golf Association of Philadelphia (GAP) is the oldest regional golf association in the United States and serves as the principal ruling body of amateur golf in its region. Its 145 Member Clubs and 57,000 individual members are spread across parts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland. As Philadelphia’s Most Trusted Source of Golf Information, the Golf Association of Philadelphia’s mission is to promote, preserve and protect the game of golf.
