A Walk Through Time

GAP is the oldest state or regional golf association in the country. It started courtesy of a friendly competition – the Team Matches – and has grown into the preeminent golf association in the country. Along the way, golf history has been made.


Fieldstone Golf Club will host the Williamson Cup.

Association announces Williamson Cup team

  The 49th Williamson Cup heads to Fieldstone Golf Club in Greenville, Del. Aug. 12-13 Representing the Golf Association of Philadelphia are Cole Berman of Philadelphia Cricket Club, Jalen Griffin of Talamore Country Club, Kevin Kramarski of Riverton Country Club and Mariano Medico of Fox Hill Country Club.

  The Williamson Cup is regarded as one of the most prominent junior events in the country. It is a 36-hole stroke play tournament that features competition among four-man teams from 11 state and regional golf associations.

  Last year, the GAP team finished third at Columbia Country Club in Bethesda, Md. The Association holds seven titles overall.

2012 Accomplishments: Medalist in the 98th Junior Boys’ Championship after firing an even-par 70 at Torresdale-Frankford Country Club … finished tied for third in the 28th Jock MacKenzie Memorial at Sandy Run Country Club … shared runner-up honors in the Christman Cup at Merion Golf Club (West Course) with rounds of 72 and 66 … Harry Hammond Award winner with a four-round total of 279 … current leader in the Junior Player of the Year Standings.

Age: 16
Club: Talamore Country Club
2012 Accomplishments: Captured the Christman Cup by seven shots with rounds of 68 and 65; set the event’s scoring record … qualified for the Joseph H. Patterson Cup presented by Liberty Mutual Insurance … currently ranked 11th in the Junior Player of the Year Standings.

Name: Kevin Kramarski
Age: 16
Club: Riverton Country Club
2012 Accomplishments: Won the 28th Jock MacKenzie Memorial; defeated defending champion Reilly Erhardt of Yardley Country Club in a sudden-death playoff after both players finished tied at 2-under-par 70 … qualified for match play in the 98th Junior Boys’ Championship … finished sixth in the Harry Hammond Award standings … currently ranked seventh in the Junior Player of the Year Standings.

Age: 16
Club: Fox Hill Country Club
2012 Accomplishments: Won the 98th Junior Boys’ Championship by defeating Evan Thornton of Berkshire Country Club, 1-up, in the Final at Torresdale-Frankford Country Club … represented Fox Hill in the GAP Team Matches … currently ranked fourth in the Junior Player of the Year Standings.
