2012 Winter Series fall venues, dates announced

Dates and locations for the first four tournaments of the 2012-13 Winter Series schedule, part of an eight-event tour spanning the fall and spring, have been secured, weather permitting.

  • Friday, Oct. 26, Radnor Valley Country Club (Format: individual net stableford)
  • Wednesday, Oct. 31, Bala Golf Club (Format: individual net stableford)
  • Wednesday, Nov. 7, Radley Run Country Club (Format: individual net stableford)
  • Thursday, Nov. 15, Indian Valley Country Club (Format: better-ball of partners)
Each tournament begins with a 10 a.m. shotgun start. Cost is $35 per person per event (not including cart fees). Entrants are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Field size for each event is determined by the host facility.

The Winter Series also features a Player of the Year competition. The Winter Series Player of the Year is determined via a points system from the eight-tournament slate — four in the fall and four in the spring. Categories include Amateur Gross, Amateur Net, Senior Gross and Senior Net.

Launched in 2008, the Winter Series offers all players of any skill level an opportunity to compete in tournament golf during the normally quiet, off-season months. Events are open to all Golf Association of Philadelphia Members, 18 years of age and older, Philadelphia Section of PGA Members and Golf Professionals at Member Clubs.
