Winter Series dates unveiledThe Golf Association of Philadelphia unveiled its 2012 Winter Series spring schedule. Launched in 2008, the Winter Series offers all players of any skill level an opportunity to compete in tournament golf during the normally quiet, off-season months. Dates and venues are as follows (weather permitting):
Cost is $35 per person per event. Players will also be able to register for their cart fee ($35) during the on-line entry process. Entrants are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Each event will be open to all Golf Association of Philadelphia Amateur Members ages 18 years of age and older, Philadelphia Section of PGA Members and Golf Professionals at Member Clubs. Last year, the Association created a Winter Series Player of the Year competition and crowned its first champions in the following categories: Amateur Gross, Amateur Net, Senior Gross and Senior Net. The Player of the Year race encompasses the final four Winter Series events of 2011 and the first four of 2012. Complete standings are available. Entries for all four events will be available only on the Association's Web site, www.gapgolf.org, starting on Monday, Jan. 30.
