Spectacular sites highlight 2013 Member Play Days schedule

GAP Member Play Days continue to grow in popularity, and with a diverse menu of venues on tap for 2013, that trend doesn’t appear likely to change.

Launched in 2010, GAP Member Play Days give Golf Association of Philadelphia members a chance to play some of the region’s finest facilities. Below is a list of courses that will host events this year:

â€˘ Manufacturers Golf & Country Club (April 8)
â€˘ Fieldstone Golf Club (April 15)
â€˘ Trump National Golf Club — Philadelphia (April 22)
â€˘ Metedeconk National Golf Club (April 29)
â€˘ Country Club of Scranton (May 8)
â€˘ Sunnybrook Golf Club (July 10)
â€˘ The Ridge at Back Brook (July 24)
â€˘ Philadelphia Country Club (July 29)
â€˘ White Manor Country Club (Aug. 7)
â€˘ Laurel Creek Country Club (Sept. 17)
â€˘ Indian Valley Country Club (Sept. 23)

Registration for each event will begin at 9 a.m. as opposed to midnight on the day entries open. The time change allows GAP staff members to address and resolve technical issues that individuals may experience in a timelier manner.

GAP Member Play Days are open to all amateur (male/female/juniors over the age of 14) Golf Association of Philadelphia individual members with a valid GAP/USGA Handicap. Each participant will have an opportunity to play in an event that will award prizes in various flights.

GAP Member Play Day events use the net Stableford scoring system, which awards points relative to par. Once you meet your net limit, you can pick up, so players don’t need to grind it out on every hole.

More venues may be added to the 2013 GAP Member Play Days schedule, so make sure to check the Association’s Web site, www.gapgolf.org, for updates.
