Callaway Golf partners with Golf Association of PhiladelphiaThe Golf Association of Philadelphia proudly announces Callaway Golf as a corporate partner for both the 2014 Middle-Amateur Championship and Marston Cup. Both tournaments are to be presented by Callaway Golf. The arrangement further strengthens Callaway Golf's recent focus on the avid and competitive amateur and Mid.-Amateur market. "It’s a great honor for Callaway to sponsor the Golf Association of Philadelphia’s Mid.-Amateur Championship and Marston Cup,” said Jamie Slonis, a director of marketing at Callaway Golf. “GAP has a long and rich history of great players and great competition. We at Callaway Golf are delighted to be a part of this continuing tradition.” Slonis, a member at Tavistock Country Club, won the 2001 Patterson Cup. He is a regular in the Association’s top amateur events. The Middle-Amateur Championship is for players 25 years of age and older. The Marston Cup is for players 40 to 54 years of age. "We are excited to welcome Callaway Golf into the Golf Association of Philadelphia family,” said Mark Peterson, the Association’s Executive Director. “Starting at the very top with Chip Brewer, a Golf Association of Philadelphia Member and past Father-Son champion, Callaway’s impeccable reputation and respected brand are a perfect fit for the ideals the organization upholds.” Chip, and father O. Gordon, Jr., won five consecutive Father-Son titles in two different age groups from 1979-83. The partnership also includes naming rights for the three Middle-Amateur Championship Qualifiers. The arrangement additionally incorporates event presence, various content sharing and Member giveaway contests, amongst other partnership opportunities.
