A Walk Through Time

GAP is the oldest state or regional golf association in the country. It started courtesy of a friendly competition – the Team Matches – and has grown into the preeminent golf association in the country. Along the way, golf history has been made.

Team GAP falls in Mason-Dixon Matches, 15-3

  The Middle Atlantic Golf Association won its fourth consecutive Mason-Dixon Matches with a 15–3 victory at Fountain Head Country Club in Hagerstown, Md.

  The Mason-Dixon Matches pits two 12-man teams, including one Junior and two Senior players, from the Golf Association of Philadelphia and the Middle Atlantic Golf Association over two days of competition. The Day One format is six four-ball matches. Day Two is 12 singles matches. Each match is worth one point. Ties are halved. The Golf Association of Philadelphia leads the overall series, 33–25 with five ties.

  Michael Hyland of Little Mill Country Club served as the GAP captain.
