Williamson Cup team heads to Canada Aug. 11-12
The Golf Association of Philadelphia will cross the northern border Aug. 11-12 to compete in the 51st Williamson Cup at Club Laval-sur-le-Lac in Quebec. Youngsters Kevin Conners, Jr., Connor Goodrich, Cole McCook and Max Siegfried will represent the Association.
The Williamson Cup is regarded as one of the most prominent junior events nationwide. It is a 36-hole stroke play tournament that features competition among four-man teams from 11 state and regional golf associations.
The GAP team finished fourth a year ago at Sleepy Hollow Country Club in Scarborough, N.Y. Overall, the Association holds seven titles.

2014 accomplishments:Carded a 1-under-par 70 to earn co-medalist honors in the 100th Junior Boys’ Championship Qualifier at Riverton Country Club; lost to Cole McCook, 2&1, in the quarterfinals … placed tied for fifth in the Christman Cup after consecutive 74s … finished tied for ninth in the Jock MacKenzie … finished second in the Harry Hammond Award standings … currently ranked third in the Junior Player of the Year standings.
