The weather cools off and the Golf Association of Philadelphia’s Winter Series heats up. The first portion of the tour, which spans the late fall, includes the following venues, weather-permitting. The second set of tournaments, for the spring portion, will be released in early 2015.

All events utilize a shotgun start. The format is individual net Stableford, unless otherwise noted.

  • Tuesday, Oct. 28, Indian Valley Country Club (11 a.m.)
  • Wednesday, Nov. 5, Radley Run Country Club (11 a.m.)
  • Wednesday, Nov. 12, Stockton Seaview Hotel & Golf Club - Bay Course (10:30 a.m.)
  • Wednesday, Nov. 19, Cedarbrook Country Club (11 a.m.)
  • Wednesday, Dec. 3, Back Creek Golf Club (11 a.m./Format: better-ball of partners)

A sixth event may be added to the schedule, so check the Web site, www.gapgolf.org, for further details.

Registration is $40 per person per event, plus a $35 cart fee for each event. Entrants are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Field size for each event is determined by the host facility.

The Winter Series also features a Players of the Year competition determined via a points system. Categories include Amateur Gross, Amateur Net, Senior Gross and Senior Net.

Launched in 2008, the Winter Series offers all players of any skill level an opportunity to compete in tournament golf during the normally quiet, off-season months. Events are open to all Golf Association of Philadelphia Members, 18 years of age and older, Philadelphia Section of PGA Members and Golf Professionals at Member Clubs.
