Dan Scofield, a former USGA intern, joins the GAP team.

Scofield named Assistant Director of Communications

   BROOMALL, Pa. - Dan Scofield has been named as an Assistant Director of Communications of the Golf Association of Philadelphia after spending six months as a United States Golf Association intern. His immediate responsibilities will include covering tournaments and serving as a contributing writer for the Golf Association of Philadelphia Magazine.

  â€śI am beyond thrilled to join the team here at the Golf Association of Philadelphia. I look forward to working with this talented group in covering some of the best amateur golf in the country,” Scofield said. “This Association thrives off its history and traditions, and I am excited to now be a part of that.”

  Scofield, 23, graduated from Marist College in May 2014, where he received a dual-bachelor’s degree in Sports Communication and Journalism. His internship experiences came at Newsday Sports, the U.S. Army All-American Bowl and with CBS Sports during the 2014 March Madness Tournament.

  Scofield grew up in Randolph, N.J. and graduated from Morris Catholic High School in 2010 as a four-year letterwinner and two-time captain of his varsity golf team. In addition to his love for golf, the greatest game ever played, he enjoys playing basketball and studying box scores of all sports.
