Giving Tuesday to benefit J. Wood Platt Caddie ScholarshipIt's Giving Tuesday, so don't forget your caddie. The J. Wood Platt Caddie Scholarship Trust, the charitable arm of the Golf Association of Philadelphia, currently assists almost 200 caddies with their college education, and will distribute more than $1.1 million in scholarship assistance during the 2015-16 academic year. Sadly, it's not enough. But with your help, we can do more. The cost of a college continues to rise – average yearly tuition and fees for a four-year education total more than $150,000. The average student graduated from college in 2015 with more than $35,000 in student loan debt. Some are even unable to complete their schooling as they simply cannot afford a quality education. On this Giving Tuesday, we ask for your assistance in helping our caddies, whether it be joining our Par Club, beginning a Lifetime membership, or even giving whatever you can afford. Even if you don't take a caddie when you play, remember that the scholarship is education-based. Our 196 current Caddie-Scholars attend 87 different colleges and universities and have a cumulative GPA of 3.25. They are our future leaders. They work hard and are worthy of the support. Any donations made TODAY at the Par Club level or higher, will be entered into a randow drawing for a Callaway Golf wedge.
