Mario Machi began his tenure with the Golf Association of Philadelphia in 2008.

Machi named GAP Director of Member Services

The Golf Association of Philadelphia promoted Mario Machi to Director of Member Services, the organization announced today. Machi has served as the Association's Director of Handicap Services since 2008.

In this newly-created position, Machi will supervise GAP's membership offerings, including GHIN, handicapping, course rating and the retention and recruitment of members and Member Clubs, among other duties. Machi also oversees GAP's technology efforts, including the popular GAP Mobile App and the development of the Association's official Web site, www.gapgolf.org.

â€śOver the last eight years, Mario has provided outstanding handicap and tournament software service to members and Member Clubs,” GAP Executive Director Mark Peterson said. “His skills in technology and business have assisted many clubs in providing seamless tournament service. The elevation of Mario to the Director of Member Services role illustrates the growth of the Golf Association of Philadelphia as we strive to improve and expand services for all golfers in our region. This is a wonderful opportunity for both Mario and the Association.”

During Machi's time as Director of Handicap Services, the Association's membership increased by nearly 20 Member Clubs. He served on the United States Golf Association's GHIN Steering Committee from 2011-2014.

â€śI'm thrilled to be in this new role," Machi, 35, said. “I firmly believe that GAP offers as much value to its members as any state or regional golf association, and I can't wait to continue to show that to our membership.”

Machi resides in Ardmore, Pa. with his wife, Nicole, and their sons, Roman and Leo. Contact him at 610-687-2340 ext. 20 or via e-mail at mmachi@gapgolf.org.
