Volunteers Day celebrates those who assisted in 2016
AMBLER, Pa. — As a token of appreciation, the Golf Association of Philadelphia conducted Volunteers Day Oct. 12 at a terrific Talamore Country Club. The event serves as a "thank you" to those who dedicated their time and effort to assisting the organization with course rating and tournament administration this year.
Participants enjoyed a day of lunch, golf, cocktails and dinner. The Association also named Richard Davoli of Commonwealth National Golf Club its Volunteer of the Year. A volunteer since 2009, Davoli, 63, of Lower Gwynedd, Pa., serves as a starter and scorecard/timing checkpoint official. In 2016, he volunteered during eight tournaments, including all of the season's Majors.
A full-length story about Davoli will appear in the winter edition of the Golf Association of Philadelphia Magazine.
