A Walk Through Time

GAP is the oldest state or regional golf association in the country. It started courtesy of a friendly competition – the Team Matches – and has grown into the preeminent golf association in the country. Along the way, golf history has been made.


2017 Highlight Reel showcases sensational shots, moments

  Take a look back at the Golf Association of Philadelphia’s tournament season by watching the 2017 highlight reel, released today on the organization’s YouTube channel.

  It includes memorable moments and great golf shots captured during the 117th BMW Philadelphia Amateur Championship at Philadelphia Cricket Club, 34th Middle-Amateur Championship presented by Callaway Golf at Overbrook Golf Club, 115th Joseph H. Patterson Cup at Wilmington Country Club and more. Perhaps footage of a rare solar eclipse is featured, too.

Founded in 1897, the Golf Association of Philadelphia (GAP) is the oldest regional golf association in the United States and serves as the principal ruling body of amateur golf in its region. Its 153 Full Member Clubs and 57,000 individual members are spread across parts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. As Philadelphia’s Most Trusted Source of Golf Information, the Golf Association of Philadelphia’s mission is to promote, preserve and protect the game of golf.
