Association, PURE Insurance announce partnershipThe Golf Association of Philadelphia is proud to announce PURE Insurance as the presenting partner of three Junior tournaments in 2017. PURE Insurance will sponsor the 103rd Junior Boys’ Championship, the oldest Junior event in the Association and one of the oldest Junior competitions in the country, as well as the two Pre-Junior Tournaments on the Association’s tournament schedule. “We are proud to welcome PURE Insurance into the Golf Association of Philadelphia family,” said Bob Morey, the GAP President. “PURE, a policyholder-owned insurer, is recognized for their uncompromising commitment to delivering exceptional service.” PURE will be represented at all three events. The Junior Boys’ Championship is June 19-21 at Spring Ford Country Club with a field size of 144 players. The first day is 18 holes of stroke play qualifying. The top 32 players advance into match play of two flights, the Championship Flight (Top 16) and First Flight (Second 16). The Pre-Junior tournaments are for boys and girls 11 years of age and younger. A rules clinic precedes a six-hole tournament. The day is about learning and enjoying the game more than competition. All players receive a lunch post-round. “We are very excited about this partnership and the opportunities it presents for PURE,” said Denis Kirwin SVP, Regional Executive at the PURE Group of Insurance Companies. “It supports our efforts to increase brand awareness in a community that’s very important to our growth objectives, and it aligns with our passion for supporting youth activities.” In addition to this sponsorship, PURE is the incoming title sponsor of the longstanding PGA TOUR Champions event held annually at Pebble Beach. The newly-named PURE Insurance Championship brings together golf legends to play alongside top juniors from The First Tee.
