PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — As a gesture of thanks, the Golf Association of Philadelphia conducted Volunteers Day on Oct. 19 at Bala Golf Club. The event included lunch, golf, cocktails and dinner for those who dedicated their time and effort to assisting with course rating and tournament administration in 2017.
During the evening portion, the Association formally recognized Muffy McCabe of Philadelphia Country Club as its Volunteer of the Year. She is the first female in the award’s 12-year history to receive the honor. McCabe, 45, of Glen Mills, Pa., volunteered for 20 tournaments in 2017 and served as a member of the inaugural course setup crew.
