GAP, WGA sponsoring Ultimate Play Day at BMW Championship**Registration for the Ultimate Play Day is now open** NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa.-When the 2018 BMW Championship comes to Aronimink Golf Club in September, the Top 70 PGA TOUR professionals will be competing on one of the country’s finest, most historic courses. Before the world’s leading players tee it up, Golf Association of Philadelphia members will have a rare opportunity to test their skills at Aronimink under the same challenging, championship conditions. GAP and the Western Golf Association are partnering to stage the Ultimate Play Day on Monday, Sept. 3, to kick off BMW Championship week. On a course set to be in pristine shape, Ultimate Play Day participants will compete for a multitude of prizes in this once-in-a-lifetime event while supporting the Platt Evans Scholarships for caddies. “We’re elated to be able to offer this exceptional playing experience exclusively to our association members, who have been so supportive of all we do to promote golf in our region,” said Mark Peterson, Golf Association of Philadelphia Executive Director. “Arominink and Philadelphia will be at the center of the golf world the first week of September, and this is an opportunity for our members to share in the experience while also helping us fund college scholarships for caddies.” Each playing position will include a premium gift package with the following amenities: **Registration for the Ultimate Play Day is now open**
The entry fee of $1,950 per player includes a tax-deductible donation to the Platt Evans Scholarship program, which provides full tuition and housing college scholarships to Penn State University for deserving caddies at Philadelphia area clubs. Participants will compete under the Stableford Scoring System. “We’re looking forward to an exciting week of golf at Aronimink,” said Vince Pellegrino, WGA Senior Vice President of Tournaments. “Opening the course to GAP members for the Ultimate Play Day offers us a perfect way to thank golfers throughout the region for their support of the BMW Championship and the Platt Evans Scholarships.” The Ultimate Play Day, contested on Aronimink’s recently renovated, Donald Ross-designed championship layout, will feature a morning shotgun start allowing for an afternoon of family activities for Labor Day. The event is limited to 20 foursomes and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration for the Ultimate Play Day will open on May 17, 2018.
