Handicap score posting for GAP region ended Nov. 14
The active handicap posting season for the Philadelphia region ended on Nov. 14. It will begin again on April 1. Only scores from areas that are still in active seasons can be posted to your handicap record until April 1. Those areas include Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Southern Nevada, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. Handicap posting season for the Philadelphia region was extended by two weeks beginning last year. The schedule change was made by the GAP as a response to the mild weather in recent Novembers, as a way to give golfers a chance to post more rounds and to end up with a more accurate USGA Handicap Index. The Golf Association of Philadelphia will resume active score posting at the start of its next season — April 1, 2018. It will revise handicaps eight times during the offseason to incorporate any scores posted from other areas. The dates for these revisions are Nov. 15, Dec. 1, Dec. 15, Jan. 1, Jan. 15, Feb. 1, Feb. 15, March 1 and March 15.
