Seminars set to address Rules of Golf changes in 2019The Golf Association of Philadelphia will present a pair of Club Rules Seminars, with a specific focus on the significant changes that took effect Jan. 1.
The first will take place on Saturday, Feb. 23 at Whitemarsh Valley Country Club. It begins at 8 a.m. Cost is $50 per person and includes morning refreshments, a morning break, luncheon and a complimentary copy of the 2019 Rules of Golf. Reservations are limited to the first 100 received by the Association Office. The entry deadline is Tuesday, Feb. 12. The seminar’s instructor has yet to be determined. Kirby Martin, GAP Director of Competitions, will serve as guest instructor during a Club Rules Seminar on Saturday, March 2 at Lancaster Country Club. It begins at 9 a.m. and includes the aforementioned components. Cost is $35. The Club Rules Seminar is open to any GAP Member or Member Club official interested in learning more on the modernization of the Rules of Golf. It marks another avenue through which the Association fulfills its longstanding mission: to preserve, protect and promote the game of golf throughout the region. In addition, the Association, as part of an increase in women’s programming, will offer a women-only Rules Seminar on Saturday, March 30 at Bluestone Country Club. Cost is $50. The seminar’s instructor has yet to be determined.
