Championships – The Golf Association of Philadelphia conducts more than 50 tournaments and events per year for every age group and skill level. A member is eligible for a tournament based on his respective handicap. Age group categories include Amateur, Senior, Super Senior and Junior. Tournament skill levels are defined as Gross and Net. For a complete list of tournaments and the eligibility requirements for those respective events, visit the Tournament Schedule page. GAP Team Matches – Nothing matches the scale of the GAP Team Matches. On three Sundays in April over 3,700 players representing a record 300-plus teams from more than 120 member clubs will engage in inter-club competition. The Interclub Matches, as they were originally called, served as the basis for the founding of the Association, and today, just like then, serves as a source of club pride. GAP Team Matches are only open to Golf Association of Philadelphia members. Handicap Administration – The Golf Association of Philadelphia has provided handicaps for its members since the USGA created a centralized service in 1964. The GAP is affiliated with the Golf Handicap and Information Network, known as GHIN, the nationwide service provided by the USGA. A GAP/USGA Handicap Index allows for equitable competition amongst players of all skill levels.
