Rollout and Implementation
FAQs
A: The USGA has chosen to replace TPP with the new Golf Genius-powered program. However, for the 2017 season, your access to TPP will not go away. Having said that, we would strongly encourage all clubs to try out the new product to see how it fits your needs. In 2018, the USGA will no longer support TPP, and it also is not compatible with Windows 10 computers.
2. Why did the USGA/GHIN choose to partner with Golf Genius?
A: The USGA selected Golf Genius Software because of the proven quality of the product, its acceptance among numerous clubs, the scalability of the Golf Genius cloud solution, and the Golf Genius commitment to providing outstanding service to the USGA and its GHIN customers.
3. What products will GAP Member Clubs have access to through this collaboration?
A: The two products available to GAP Member Clubs are USGA Tournament Management Club and USGA Tournament Management Premium. The TM Club product is available free of charge as part of a club’s GAP Membership, similar to how TPP has always been. Clubs can upgrade to the TM Premium product for an annual fee of $2500. 4. What is the biggest difference between this product and TPP?
A: Functionally, this product does everything that TPP could do. But that’s where the similarities end. The new USGA Tournament Management platform is web-based, which means that there’s no software to install. It can be accessed on any device with Internet connection, whether that be a desktop computer, laptop, tablet or even a mobile phone. The flexibility of the software is second to none, from scorecard creation to tournament formats to live scoring capabilities.
GAP has created this site to assist clubs in the training and rollout of this new product. We are also hosting training sessions on the new software at seven area clubs in the month of March. For a schedule of those training sessions and to reserve a spot, click here. GAP will issue credentials for the new platform to those clubs who have someone attend one of the training seminars. If you cannot make it to a seminar, but are still interested in the product, please contact Mario Machi or Steve Latos at 610-687-2340 for more information.
